Dia daoibh agus fáilte ar ais chuig bliain eile i saol Chumann Thír Chonaill!
After an eventful summer break, the Donegal Association is back in action for another year of activity! During the summer, we enjoyed a number of outings.
It was great to see so many familiar faces at our Annual Complimentary Outing for members which took place on Saturday June 18th from 10am. We had lovely tea/coffee and scones in Brambles Cafe in Collins Barracks followed by a tour of Collins Barracks. A fantastic choice for our outing given the 1916 celebrations earlier this year and an exhibition worth seeing.
We were delighted to support the fundraising Night at the Races for the county GAA team held at Leopardstown on 7th July. It was a very well supported event with up to 700 people attending. Team captain Michael Murphy, manager Rory Gallagher and Co. Chairman Seán Dunnion addressed those attending. It was a most enjoyable evening with good food and drink and some people even had some success with the bookies! Great credit is due to County treasurer, Cieran Kelly and Donall Barrett of team sponsor, MCR Group, for organising such a successful evening and raising much needed funds for the team training fund.
We are looking forward to some exciting events and functions this year. We do hope that you will join us for some if not all of our upcoming events. Here are a few dates for the Autumn/Winter diary:
- The AGM will be held on Wed Oct 19th in the Regency Hotel at 8pm
- Annual Mass of Remembrance to be held on Sun Nov 13th in the Regency Hotel at 6.30pm
- Nominations for Donegal Person of the Year 2016 are now open and the closing date is Wed 30th of Nov.
We look forward to the year ahead!
